Services and supports will continue as usual

Our priority is service continuity. From1 October 2022 current services and supports  continue as normal.

It’s likely you won’t notice any change. Your regular contact person will remain the same, and you can expect your usual services and supports to continue normally.

You will soon notice a new email address and branding appearing on materials sent from the new Department.

Why a new Department for Education, Children and Young People?

The Department for Education, Children and Young People is a name that truly reflects what we are working for and how we will work to strengthen and meet our responsibility to children and young people.

Since the Tasmanian Government announced the establishment of a new Department, the Department of Education and Department of Communities Tasmania have been working together to create an organisation that delivers for all Tasmanians.

This is a unique collaborative opportunity. Experts across a range of services will combine knowledge and experience to achieve the very best outcomes for Tasmanian children and young people.
